🌿 You Have the Power to Protect Your Peace

🌿 You Have the Power to Protect Your Peace

A real, healing, and heart-spoken blog by Joice – Rise With Joice

It started with a phone call I didn’t answer.

Not because I was angry.

Not because I didn’t care.

But because that version of me — the one who answered everything, said yes to everyone, and never took a breath — was finally learning to protect her peace.

Peace doesn’t always look like a beach or a sunset.

Sometimes peace is silence.

Sometimes peace is deleting a text draft before sending it.

Sometimes it’s sitting alone, sipping chai, watching raindrops race each other down a windowpane, and not feeling the need to explain anything to anyone.

For years, I was a chronic fixer.

If someone was upset, I felt responsible.

If a situation felt off, I’d twist myself into pieces trying to make it right.

I thought that being a “good person” meant always being available.

What I didn’t realise then was that being a good person to everyone else often made me a stranger to myself.

The moment everything shifted

It was during a particularly exhausting season.

I had just said “yes” to too many things again, skipped meals again, and carried worries that weren’t mine again.

One evening, I looked in the mirror and whispered to myself,

“I’m so tired of being everything for everyone… and nothing for me.”

And that’s when I began choosing peace — little by little.

How I protect my peace now (and how you can too):

🌸 I set boundaries — kindly, but clearly.

🌸 I pause before replying, especially when I feel triggered.

🌸 I say “no” without guilt, and “yes” with my whole heart.

🌸 I unfollow and mute things that disrupt my emotional balance.

🌸 I remind myself: peace is not selfish — it’s sacred.

But let’s be honest — it’s not easy.

There are days I fall back into old patterns.

There are moments when I overthink, overshare, or overdo.

But each time I come back to myself, I come back stronger.

Because now, I know:

🕊️ I have the power to protect my peace.

And so do you.

A gentle note to you, dear reader:

Your peace matters.

You don’t owe anyone constant access to your energy.

Your softness, your silence, your healing — all deserve protection.

And you’re allowed to walk away from what hurts, even if it’s familiar.

Let today be the day you stop apologizing for choosing yourself.

Let peace be your loudest yes. 🌿

With love and light,

Joice
