“The Day I Almost Gave Up (But Didn’t): A Tale of Tea, Tears & Tiny Triumphs”

Have you ever had one of those days?

You know, the kind where your alarm forgets to go off (because you forgot to set it), your phone battery dies (because you forgot to charge it), and your coffee machine gives up on life before you even had the chance to?

Yeah. That kind of day.

I had one recently. And while it started like a bad sitcom, it ended up teaching me one of the biggest lessons about resilience and choosing progress over perfection.

Scene One: The Breakdown

It was a regular Tuesday. Except it wasn’t.

I had a to-do list that looked like a mini novel. My child was throwing tantrums. My house looked like a tornado did yoga in it. And there I was — with messy hair, zero motivation, and a slight caffeine withdrawal headache.

I sat on the floor and whispered to myself, “Maybe I’m just not cut out for this.”

Scene Two: The Plot Twist

But then — and I’m not making this up — I heard the faint sound of my own voice from an old voice memo I accidentally hit on my phone. It said:

“You got this. You always have.”

I had recorded it for a friend weeks ago who was having a hard time. But somehow, in that moment, it felt like it was meant for me.

So I got up. Brushed my teeth. Made a fresh cup of tea. And opened my laptop.

Scene Three: The Tiny Triumph

I didn’t conquer the world that day. But I wrote one blog post. I cleaned one corner of the room. I replied to two important emails. And I told myself, “That’s enough.”

Moral of the Story?

You don’t have to do everything today.

You just have to do something.

Even one small win is a big deal when you’re fighting battles nobody sees.

So, the next time you feel like giving up — sit down, breathe, and maybe listen to an old voice note (or even your heart). Then get up… and take the next small step.

Because that’s how warriors are built — not by doing it all at once, but by showing up again and again, even when it’s messy.

P.S.

If you’re still reading this — you’re stronger than you think.

And guess what? You got this. You always have.
